Another big tenant for S. Lake Union

SEATTLE -- Clothing-maker Tommy Bahama will move its headquarters from the Tower Building in downtown Seattle to Paul Allen-built offices in South Lake Union.

Tommy Bahama yesterday said it signed a lease for 78,000 square feet in an 85,000-square-foot structure that Allen's Vulcan Inc. and partner McKinstry will soon construct at 428 Westlake Ave. The six-story structure's remaining space will be first-floor retail.

The deal marks another big score for Vulcan, which has projects throughout South Lake Union and has landed most of the larger tenant signings in downtown Seattle during the past couple of years.

Broker Bryan Syrdal of Teutsch Partners represented Tommy Bahama. Tim O'Keefe of Colliers International negotiated for Vulcan. 428 Westlake's architect is CollinsWoerman. The general contractor is Sellen Construction.
