MHA has a funny way of driving the real estate market. About two years before the recent citywide Mandatory Housing Affordability upzone, redevelopment plans were submitted for 524 Federal Ave. E., where the existing older three-story Mercer Crest Apartments sits on the corner of East Mercer Street.
The plan was actually for the three old single-family houses to the south, now used as apartments, too. We last touched on that plan — vested before MHA went into effect — before the south parcels sold. So what's happening now?
