Greg Hulbert joined Gensler as director of global accounts in the Northwest region, which includes San Francisco, San Jose, San Ramon and Seattle. He is based in San Francisco and has more than 25 years of experience in development and construction. He will find business opportunities in key markets. Gensler said his hiring supports its goal of servicing multi-location and multi-project accounts. Hulbert was managing director of the Northwest region at Jones Lang LaSalle in the development services group and construction division. His clients included Host Hotels, Apple and Amazon. Gensler is a global design, planning and strategic consulting firm, and has a Seattle office.

Elliott Bay Design Group hired naval architects Michael LaRose and Samuel Waterhouse in Seattle and marine designer Joseph Dupont and naval architect Luisa Malabet in New Orleans. LaRose and Waterhouse hold bachelor's degrees in naval architecture and marine engineering from Webb Institute and interned with EBDG. Dupont and Malabet are graduates of the University of New Orleans. EBDG said it has added two staff members a month since May, continuing a steady expansion. The naval architecture and marine engineering firm also has an office in Ketchikan, Alaska.

HDJ Design Group hired Kenneth F. Hash as senior transportation manager and Trinh Tran as a civil engineering designer. Hash has 34 years of transportation experience focused on local, state and regional facilities. He was Southwest Region local programs manager for WSDOT, working on programs for counties, cities, ports, tribes and other public agencies. Tran joins the site development team. She has more than eight years in project design, including federal, military, aviation, commercial and residential projects, and four years of public works experience for King County and West Linn, Ore. HDJ is an engineering, planning, land survey and landscape architecture firm headquartered in Vancouver.

Kirkland-based Transpo Group hired Kevin L. Jones and Kevin Mizuta as senior transportation engineers. Jones is returning to the firm. He has 18 years of professional experience, including 15 at Transpo Group. He has worked as a transportation planning consultant and a business manager in commercial real estate. He will lead projects and focus on client relationships, business development and expert testimony. Mizuta will focus on tolling, traffic engineering and intelligent transportation systems. He has 13 years of experience, and was with the Washington State Department of Transportation, most recently as Toll Division business manager. He will work with public agencies on ITS. The firm provides transportation planning and engineering, with offices also in Oregon, California, Utah, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Amento Group hired Sharlet Driggs as a project manager. She has 24 years of experience in construction, including owning a consulting business and working as a project manager, estimator and project engineer. Her work includes commercial, residential, mixed-use, multifamily, public projects and construction litigation. She will provide project management, defect analysis, investigation forensics, litigation support and remediation planning.

Goodenow has 13 years of experience at firms in Portland and New York City. He is working on projects for the U.S. Department of State. Colin has five years of architecture experience and was previously with firms in Kansas City and Portland. He is working on a project for the Department of State. Kubo holds a master of architecture degree from the University of Oregon. She is working on TIs for a Fortune 50 client in Michigan. Temple has six years of experience at Oregon and Massachusetts firms. She also provided design services for a nonprofit in Guatemala and taught at Boston Architectural College. She is working on a project for the Department of State. Yost Grube Hall provides planning, architecture and interior design.

Bassetti Architects named Daniel L. Miles a principal. Since joining the firm in 2010, he has focused on long-range planning for public institutions and Catholic parish campuses, and will continue to do that work. He is project manager for Shorewood High School and Fran's Chocolate Factory at the original Rainier Brewery Brew House in Georgetown. He also has 20 years of golf course planning and design experience, and led design of the driving range and clubhouse at Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle. Bassetti has offices in Seattle and Portland.

Stuart Bennion joined BergerABAM in its Federal Way office. Bennion has 12 years of experience with the Washington State Department of Transportation as an assistant state construction engineer and bridge designer. He has been responsible for designing projects that include the US 395 North Spokane corridor, and has lectured on bridge design and construction. BergerABAM provides civil and structural engineering, land use planning, natural resources, public involvement, landscape architecture, surveying, construction management and support, and dive services. It also has offices in Seattle and Vancouver and in Oregon, California, Nevada and Texas.

CG Engineering hired Marco Orejuela and Dirk Rogstad as structural engineers-in-training. Orejuela has a civil engineering degree from Gonzaga University and EIT certification in Washington. Rogstad holds a civil engineering degree from Washington State University and EIT certification in Washington. He worked for the Bellevue street maintenance department and Whitworth University maintenance department. CG is an Edmonds-based civil and structural engineering firm.

Soderstrom Architects promoted Marlene Gillis, Mike Shea and Dan Van Calcar to principal. Gillis is a senior project manager and construction specifier. She returned to the firm three years ago and has directed design of projects that include a LEED gold medical office building and a medical school in Oregon. Shea has been a senior project manager. He joined the firm in 2008 and has worked on higher education projects. Van Calcar has directed medical projects at Soderstrom for 10 years, including a hospital in Soldotna, Alaska. Portland-based Soderstrom is an architectural, planning and interior design firm.

Weir has 10 years of communications experience in the architecture industry. He was assistant director of the Oregon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Moreno holds a master of architecture degree from the University of Oregon and a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of New Mexico. He is working on tenant improvements for a Fortune 50 client in Michigan. Austin has four years of experience in architecture. She worked for architecture firms in Baltimore, Seattle and Portland, and is now working on a project for the Department of State. Lawrence (Larry) K. L. Ho retired as a principal with Freiheit & Ho Architects. He will become a principal emeritus and maintain a presence in the Kirkland office. Ho will continue to work on projects for long-term clients and pursue his own architectural interests. He established Freiheit & Ho Architects with Dick Freiheit in 1985. The firm said Ho provided inspirational design to balance Freiheit's business sense, and that Ho helped establish its reputation in a number of markets. He led significant projects, including the Future of Flight Aviation Center at Paine Field and Bellevue's Newport Corporate Center. The firm provides architecture, planning and interior design.

Parametrix hired Yuhe Yang as a senior consultant in its Bellevue office. Yang has experience as project manager and design manager on complex highway and transit/rail projects in the U.S. Yang will be structures manager for Sound Transit Lynnwood Link Extension, Phase 3. He managed the Northwest transportation structures division for URS and worked on the $5.3 billion Honolulu Rail Transit project. Parametrix provides services in transportation, natural resources, community building, water solutions, and environmental engineering and science.

Marcus Elliott joined the Seattle office of Perteet as a senior project manager for the transportation design group. Elliott has spent the last 14 years working on transportation projects for public agencies. His projects have been in the Northwest, Midwest and Southeast, and he worked on the RapidRide E & F Lines. Perteet is a multidisciplinary engineering firm with offices also in Everett and Snoqualmie.
