APCO Worldwide

APCO Worldwide hired Katherine Mackinnon as a director based in the Seattle office. Mackinnon comes from Nyhus Communications, where she specialized in reputation management, advocacy, strategic communications and public affairs. Prior to that, she was a policy and advocacy specialist at Downtown Seattle Association. APCO is an international public affairs firm with 29 offices.

Qumulo

Qumulo, a Seattle-based provider of hybrid cloud storage, added Mercer Rowe as vice president of business development and Josh Harbert as vice president of demand generation. Rowe was senior vice president and general manager of Avaya's cloud business. Harbert was vice president of marketing at enterprise software company Apptio.

JND Legal Administration

Flora Bian is the new CFO at JND Legal Administration, a Seattle-based provider of legal management and administration for law firms, corporations and government entities. Bian is a CPA, and was CFO at SET in Portland. Before that, she was CFO and COO at Interbrand in Cincinnati.

Avalara

Seattle-based business tax software developer Avalara appointed Amit Mathradas as president and COO, Sanjay Parthasarathy as chief product officer and Ross Tennenbaum as executive vice president of strategic initiatives. Mathradas was general manager of North American Small Business at PayPal. Parthasarathy founded Indix, an artificial intelligence platform recently bought by Avalara. Tennenbaum was a managing director in the technology investment banking division of Goldman Sachs.

King County Board of Health

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Jeanne Kohl-Welles is the new chair of the King County Board of Health. Kohl-Welles said she will focus on domestic violence, missing and murdered indigenous women, and gun violence. She has been an alternate on the board since 2016.

Washington Winegrowers Association

Washington Winegrowers Association honored several people at its annual convention and trade show in Kennewick. Jim McFerran, director of viticulture for Wyckoff Farms and Coventry Vale Winery, received the Erick Hanson Memorial Winegrape Grower of the Year Award; Rick Hamman, retired viticulture manager for Hogue Ranches, received the Industry Service Award; Ted Baseler, former president and CEO of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, received the Lifetime Achievement Award; and Charlie Hoppes, owner and winemaker of Fidelitas, won the Grand Vin Award.

Joshua Green Corp.

Campbell Soup Co. is selling its 225,000-square-foot Everett refrigerated soup plant to an affiliate of Seattle-based private investment company Joshua Green Corp. The deal is expected to close later this year. Other details were not disclosed.

HomeStreet Bank

In Seattle, HomeStreet Bank is seeking buyers for its stand-alone home loan centers and related mortgage origination personnel. It also is seeking buyers for most of its single-family mortgage servicing operations for loans originated by those centers. If these businesses are sold, HomeStreet expects to retain a smaller mortgage operation integrated with its commercial and consumer banking business.
