Of counsel attorneys Adam Coady, Alexandra Kleeman and Nathan Luce are now partners in the Seattle office of Stoel Rives. Coady is a partner in the firm's Real Estate, Development & Construction group, where he focuses on commercial real estate transactions and leasing. Kleeman is a partner in the firm's Environmental, Land Use and Natural Resources group. She assists buyers, developers, lenders, landlords and industrial operators with environmental and regulatory matters. Luce also is a partner in the Real Estate, Development & Construction group. He represents buyers, sellers and lenders in the acquisition, disposition, development and financing of commercial, retail and multifamily projects.
Linda Magee joined Pemco Insurance as controller. Magee has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including stints as senior director of finance at the nonprofit Washington State Hospital Association, CFO at AssureStart insurance agency and vice president of financial analysis at SeaBright Insurance.
In Seattle, Keller Rohrback named Ryan McDevitt and Matt Gerend as partners. Both practice in the firm's Complex Litigation group. McDevitt played a significant role in achieving and administering landmark settlements on behalf of drivers of diesel Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Ram and Jeep vehicles. Gerend focuses on litigation brought under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
Seattle-based Brightwork Consulting hired Mae Regalado as senior consultant to lead a large healthcare IT project in the Los Angeles area and Alyson Lewis as senior consultant to lead a large healthcare IT project in the Denver area. Regalado has more than 20 years of leadership experience on data management and integration projects. Lewis has over 10 years of experience with IT implementation. Brightwork is a risk management, change management and business strategy consultant.
Thirteen communities won 2019 Smart Communities Awards from the state Department of Commerce. Smart Vision Award winners were the cities of Prosser and Lakewood. This award recognizes outstanding comprehensive plans, sub-area plans or county-wide planning policies. Smart Choices Awards went to Island County and the cities of Blaine and Vancouver. This award recognizes excellence in implementation of a comprehensive plan. Smart Projects Award winners were Intercity Transit and the city of Bellingham. They were cited for outstanding projects in the implementation of a comprehensive plan. Smart Partnership Awards went to the cities of Walla Walla, Colville, Tukwila and their partners. This award recognizes achievements by a joint public project that implements a comprehensive plan. Smart Housing Strategies Award winners were Island County and the city of Tacoma. They were cited for creative plans, policies, programs and/or actions to address affordable housing. The city of Bonney Lake won the Judges' Merit Award for its watershed protection policies and land use planning.

OVG-Seattle and NHL Seattle hired three senior leaders: April West, vice president of human resources; Don Graham, vice president of events; and Katie Townsend, vice president of communications. West is an experienced professional with stints at JW Marriott Chicago, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. and the Chicago Cubs. Graham has managed events for large venues including the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Townsend is a former BBC senior news producer with over a decade of experience in multi-platform storytelling. OVG-Seattle is the local office of the Oak View Group, which is leading redevelopment and operations of the new arena at Seattle Center.
In Bellevue, Puget Sound Energy named Mary E. Kipp as president. Kipp is CEO and president of El Paso Electric in Texas. Prior to joining El Paso Electric, she was a prosecuting attorney for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, a lawyer at El Paso Natural Gas Co. and a lawyer at Greenberg Traurig. At PSE, Kipp is expected to assume the additional role of CEO when Kimberly Harris retires from that position next January.
In Auburn, Orion Industries rebranded itself as a social enterprise to better represent its business and mission — to change the lives of people with barriers to employment through training, education and other programs. Orion's customers include Fortune 500 companies like Boeing and Microsoft.
Bellevue-based CPA firm and consultant Clark Nuber was named to the Accounting Move Project's Best CPA Firms for Women and Best CPA Firms for Leadership Equity. Also, Seattle Business magazine placed Clark Nuber in the top 10 of the 2019 Washington 100 Best Companies to Work For in the large company category.
