Taji

Madison

MSNW Group promoted Jessica Madison to operations manager of the Seattle branch, and hired Hamza Taji as operations manager of the Portland branch and Joseph Bushey as human resources manager at its Ferndale headquarters. Madison started at MSNW as a janitor and moved her way up. She assists Jason Sullivan in running the Seattle branch. Taji was a service delivery team manager at Relay Resources from before joining MSNW. Bushey was a district manager at Aramark in Bellingham and served 24 years in the Army. MSNW provides facilities management, janitorial, landscaping, maintenance and specialty services.

Total Reclaim

Farris

Bobby Farris is the new CEO of Seattle e-waste recycler Total Reclaim. Farris was a general manager for TerraCycle, a company that collects “hard-to-recycle” materials such as lighting, batteries and electronics. Prior to that, he was vice president of business development for appliance recycler Jaco Environmental and director of electronics recycling services at Waste Management.

Vesta

Lake Oswego, Oregon-based Vesta hired Tan Truong as chief information officer. Truong has over 15 years of experience in financial technology, most recently developing a global issuing platform for SVM, a provider of gift and prepaid cards for the incentive industry. Vesta provides e-commerce payment and fraud detection solutions.

Roto-Rooter

Roto-Rooter Services Co. paid $120 million for HSW RR's franchise operations and Western Drain Supply. HSW was Roto-Rooter's largest independent franchise operator of plumbing and drain cleaning services, with 14 branches in California, Texas, Arizona, Utah and Oregon. Roto-Rooter, a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Chemed Corp., is buying franchises to boost productivity, market share and profitability.

Skagit County Superior Court

In Mount Vernon, Skagit County Superior Court appointed Heather Shand as commissioner. Shand was pro-tem judge for District Court and pro-tem commissioner for Superior Court. She has experience in family law, including adoptions, guardianships, probates, business, taxation and estate planning. She will be sworn in on Thursday.

Ater Wynne

Portland-based business law firm Ater Wynne is merging with Los Angeles-based law firm Buchalter. Adding Ater Wynne's 21 attorneys in Portland will give Buchalter about 300 attorneys in nine locations, including a Seattle office it opened less than two years ago. Ater Wynne managing partner Todd A. Mitchell will become managing shareholder of the Portland office and a member of Buchalter's board. The deal is expected to close Oct. 1. The Seattle office has grown to 12 attorneys and recently relocated to U.S. Bank Centre.

Vyrty

Darin Selnick joined Redmond-based health care technology startup Vyrty as an advisor. Selnick has held several senior positions in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and was advisor to the White House Domestic Policy Council. Vyrty has developed Sync.MD, a mobile app and website that allows patients to control their health care information.

Sound Transit

Sound Transit is looking for volunteers to serve on its citizen oversight panel representing Pierce County. There are three positions open on the 15-person panel, which monitors Sound Transit and reports to the agency's board. More information is at https://tinyurl.com/ST-PCCOP.
