Fred Hutch

Lynch

In Seattle, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center named Dr. Thomas J. Lynch Jr. as president and director. Lynch most recently was chief scientific officer at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he led the company's research and development efforts in cancer, cardiovascular disease, fibrosis and immunoscience. He has over 30 years of experience in academic medicine. He starts next month at Fred Hutch.

Port of Seattle

The Port of Seattle Commission elected Peter Steinbrueck as its president for 2020. Steinbrueck's current term as a port commissioner runs through the end of 2021. Other new officers include Fred Felleman as vice president and Sam Cho as secretary. Cho is a newly elected commissioner and Felleman was recently reelected.

Jet Parts Engineering

Seattle-based Jet Parts Engineering bought Aero Parts Mart of Fort Worth, Texas. Terms of the deal were not announced. Jet Parts designs proprietary OEM-alternative parts and repair services for the commercial aerospace industry. It is a portfolio company of Vance Street Capital. Aero Parts designs and sells proprietary aftermarket replacement components for the regional jet market.

Vesta

Lake Oswego, Oregon-based Vesta hired Leo Khan as chief marketing officer. Khan was head of enterprise marketing at San Jose, California-based Signifyd. Prior to that, he was vice president of marketing and communications for Propy, a real estate transaction management platform. Vesta provides e-commerce payment and fraud detection services.

TrueBlue

Four leaders at Tacoma-based TrueBlue and its companies were named 2019 HR Superstars by HRO Today magazine. They are: Patrick Beharelle, CEO of TrueBlue; Taryn Owen, president of PeopleReady; Chip Holmes, interim president of PeopleScout; and Carl Schweihs, president of PeopleManagement. The awards recognize those leading transformation and innovation in human resources. TrueBlue provides specialized workforce staffing.

Clark Nuber

Bellevue CPA and consulting firm Clark Nuber promoted Candi Avery, Dora Leung, Jennifer Mace, Hillary Parker and Matt Sutorius to shareholders. Avery works with not-for-profit organizations. Leung advises privately held businesses on federal and international tax issues. Mace provides planning and compliance for domestic and foreign corporations and pass-through entities. Parker provides audit, accounting and business advisory services to privately held businesses. Sutorius specializes in angel- and venture-backed companies.

University of Washington

The University of Washington's Economics Department promoted Ahna Kotila to academic services director of the undergraduate program. Kotila has been with the university for nearly 20 years and is a graduate of its Economics Department.

Columbia Bank

Tacoma-based Columbia Bank has new management at the top level: Clint Stein as president and CEO; Eric Eid as executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer; David Moore Devine as executive vice president and chief marketing and experience officer; Nicole Sherman as executive vice president and director of retail banking and digital integration; and Aleigha Nation as senior vice president and director of marketing. Columbia Bank has branches throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Bates Group

Lake Oswego, Oregon-based Bates Group acquired The Advisor's Resource, a financial services compliance consulting firm in Houston. Bates' services include litigation consultation, regulatory enforcement and internal investigations, compliance solutions, forensic accounting, damages and big data consulting.
