Seattle Mortgage Co.'s Residential Construction Department has moved to a new location: 2825 Eastlake Ave. E., Suite 250, Seattle, WA 98102. The company moved to a larger location because of increasing business.
Charles Demming, a senior project manager with Kitchell's Northwest Region office, has been elected 1999-2000 president of the Oregon/S.W. Washington Chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International. The council is a professional organization committed to the development of school facilities that enhance learning and provide a safe environment for education. Demming is a senior project manager for Kitchell. The Northwest office provides program and construction management services to public school districts, counties and cities in Washington and Oregon.
S. Jamie Awford has been hired as business development manager for Gilbane Building Co.'s Western Region office in Kirkland. Awford has over 15 years of experience in architectural, engineering and construction business development and operations. In developing Gilbane's Western Region, Awford will focus on the library, education and corrections markets.
Lease Crutcher Lewis' Portland office has made several staff additions. John Albers is a project manager, Robert "Doc" Dorroh is a superintendent and Angela Fraley is the marketing manager. Albers has worked in the industry for 20 years. Prior to joining LCL, he worked as a carpenter, foreman, superintendent and project manager for Taisei Construction and Morrison Construction. At LCL, Albers will focus on light-industrial and tenant improvement projects. Dorroh has over 30 years of construction experience in the Portland market. He previously worked at Howard S. Wright Construction. His new role is with LCL's Tenant Improvement department. Fraley has worked for the past six years in Portland's architecture, engineering and advertising industries. She is responsible for the firm's public relations and business development efforts.

Gary St. Arnaud has joined Bellevue-based Leisure Care as vice president of construction. His new job includes assembling and managing the technical resources needed to design and build senior housing communities. He has nearly 30 years of industry experience and holds a civil engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick. Prior to joining Leisure Care, St. Arnaud worked for Madison Homes as executive vice president. Leisure Care operates 29 retirement communities in the western part of the country.
Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. has hired Doug Chadwick as its vice president of sales and marketing. Chadwick has over 25 years of experience in the building products industry, including 11 years with kitchen cabinet maker Starmark. Canyon Creek makes cabinets for the residential contractor and dealer markets. It is an independent operating unit of Beltecno Industries, a maker of kitchen and industrial products headquartered in Nagoya, Japan.
