Andersen Construction's Seattle office added Drit Shoemaker as business development manager, Neil Gutenberg as senior superintendent, Don Lane as senior project manager, JJ Jordan as project engineer, Tad Groves as project manager and Brent Mecham as assistant superintendent. Shoemaker has 10 years of business development and marketing experience. He is helping Andersen expand in the Seattle area. Gutenberg has 25 years of construction industry experience. Lane has more than 20 years of experience in commercial construction. Jordan earned his master's degree in construction management in 2010 and has been working in the industry since then. Groves has worked for 14 years on commercial construction projects. Mecham also has 14 years of construction experience.

Ballard Diving & Salvage

Ballard Diving & Salvage changed its name to Ballard Marine Construction to better reflect its services. The company also announced it is opening offices in Chicago, Florida and Wisconsin. It currently operates in Seattle, Anchorage, Portland and San Francisco.

DBM Contractors

Federal Way-based DBM Contractors hired Dave Fernworn as regional manager of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Fernworn has more than 30 years of experience as a professional engineer, and most recently worked as a construction manager for J.S. Hill and Associates in the Fiji islands. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Michigan and did MBA coursework at Portland State University. He will operate out of the new DBM office in Vancouver at 2904 N.E. Burton Road.

Cascade Windows

Cascade Windows hired Miles Sagen as director of corporate services in the Spokane office. Sagen has more than 30 years of experience in the window industry, including the last 16 years as director of technical services at Quanex Building Products, and 10 years as operations manager at Milgard Windows in Tacoma. Sagen will start Oct. 21. Cascade makes windows and doors in plants in Spokane, Portland and Salt Lake City.

The Seattle office of Andersen Construction added Chad Uphaus as concrete superintendent, Aubrey Williamson as senior project engineer, Jake Brown as project superintendent, Tom Goett as project manager, Luke Hart as project engineer and Mike Fey as senior project manager. Uphaus has 20 years of experience in commercial construction and management, specializing in concrete. Williamson has worked with both public and private sector projects. Brown has spent 28 years focusing on commercial construction. Goett has worked on a variety of construction projects over 26 years. Hart recently finished post baccalaureate studies in construction management at Oregon State University. Fey started his construction career as a carpenter and has 23 years of project management experience.

Mortenson Construction

Tiffany Spadaro joined Mortenson Construction as senior integrated construction coordinator. Spadaro is providing CAD-related services in addition to developing, updating and editing 3-D and 4-D construction models for the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. She has more than 10 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Duke University.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers

Vancouver, B.C.-based Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers appointed Beverley Anne Briscoe deputy chairperson of the company's board of directors. Briscoe joined the company as a director in 2004. Her appointment is a transitional step in preparation for the retirement of Robert Murdoch, the board's current chair. Briscoe is expected to be appointed as the successor chair, if she is re-elected as a director at the company's 2014 annual meeting.

Adolfson & Peterson Construction

Adolfson & Peterson Construction raised $40,000 for charity at its 25th annual tournament last summer at Lake Spanaway Golf Course. The charities are YMCA of Pierce & Kitsap Counties, Tacoma Goodwill Industries, Salvation Army and Mary Bridge Children's Advocacy.
