Dispute arises over donated body parts

Thelma Schembre is learning more about the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act than she ever cared to know.

Her education began under sad circumstances on Nov. 28, 1998. That’s when her husband, Frank, suffered a heart attack and was taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City, Mo. After Thelma arrived at the hospital with two of her adult children, she was told Frank couldn’t be resuscitated and had passed away.
