The real story of a runaway jury

Where does John Grisham come up with this stuff?

In Runaway Jury, the latest movie based on a Grisham bestseller, a mysterious man gets himself on the jury in a landmark case against a gun manufacturer, and then tries to influence his fellow jurors into voting a certain way. His girlfriend, meanwhile, tries to swindle the attorneys into paying millions of dollars for a verdict favorable to their clients.
