Andrew Bergh: Are cell companies liable for car crashes?

Lawmakers across the nation are moving to limit or even ban cell phone use in automobiles.

But do cell phones really cause accidents? This question, among others, was recently addressed in an Indiana case brought against Cingular Wireless, the Atlanta-based company with roughly 25 million cell phone customers.
