In Florence, Oregon Pacific Bank added Sabrina Parsons and Kerrie Johnson to its board. Parsons is CEO of Palo Alto Software in Eugene. Johnson is owner and loan originator at Gallic & Johnson Financial in Eugene.

Sullivan & Reberger

Former Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter joined the lobbying firm Sullivan & Reberger in Boise. Otter is of counsel at the firm, advising business and industry associations on navigating state, regional and federal processes and opportunities. He said he won't do any lobbying. The firm's clients include the Idaho Associated General Contractors.

Fortive

Everett-based Fortive plans to split into two publicly traded companies. One of the companies will focus on industrial technology and retain the Fortive name. The other, called NewCo, will focus on transportation and mobility markets, including retail and commercial fueling, fleet management, and automotive service and repairs. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2020.

BECU

Community credit union BECU plans to open its second neighborhood financial center in Bothell next year. The 2,500-square-foot center will be in the Thrashers Corner neighborhood, near 208th Street Southeast and Bothell-Everett Highway. It will have a “tellerless” layout with three ATMs, and offer mortgages, personal loans, auto loans and business services.

Symetra

Bellevue-based Symetra Life Insurance Co. and the Seattle Seahawks honored two teachers at Parkwood Elementary School in Shoreline. Carla Salmon, a kindergarten teacher, and Renee Iverson, a third grade teacher, received Heroes in the Classroom awards. Both received $2,000 for classroom supplies and two tickets to the Seattle Seahawks' opening game on Sunday. The program will honor 16 local K–12 teachers during the 2019 NFL season.

FEMA

FEMA Region 10 recently held its inaugural Youth Preparedness Camp in Stanwood, Snohomish County. The weeklong event, staffed by camp and emergency management professionals, taught 40 students how to assist in the immediate aftermath of a disaster when a professional response may be delayed or limited. The students, in grades 8-12, came from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

In Seattle, Bassetti Architects promoted Aleks Janjic to associate and Kristian Kicinski to director of sustainability. In Portland, the firm promoted Deepa Bharatkumar to associate. Janjic is senior technical architect on a new high school and new elementary school for the Issaquah School District. Kicinski will lead Bassetti's mission to advance green building, sustainability and high performance design and will facilitate the training of staff to increase their knowledge of high performance design. Bharatkumar will continue to develop her senior architect skills, mentor teammates and lead projects. She is managing several projects for Vancouver Public Schools.

Geotechnical and environmental engineering firm Shannon & Wilson appointed Christopher Darrah and Michael D. Harney to its board of directors. Darrah is a vice president who has spent his career at the firm. He joined the Seattle office in 1987, transferred to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1992 and is now the Fairbanks office manager. He has worked on hazardous assessment, cleanup and monitoring projects in Alaska.

Harney is a senior associate geotechnical engineer. He has over 18 years of experience in geotechnical design, construction and research and has worked on civil engineering and construction projects involving a range of soil and rock types. His geotechnical engineering includes studies and recommendations for projects, among them highway and rail transportation, water and wastewater infrastructure and hydropower dams and facilities, and a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear power facility.

Kirkland-based Dibble Engineers Inc. hired Amy Chollman as a project engineer, Josh Pugh as a project manager, Lindsey Peterson as a design engineer and Bruce Johnson and Michael Brewer as CADD designers. Chollman is working on a structural collapse investigation, single-story commercial structures and residential remodels in the greater Seattle area. For the past five years, she was with regional firms in Oklahoma City, designing Federal Emergency Management Agency tornado shelters and hospitals, and working on the Oklahoma Capitol Building restoration. Pugh has a doctorate in structural engineering from the University of Washington, has been a consulting engineer for over 10 years and taught structural engineering at Seattle University. He is working on new residential projects and retrofit projects using various construction materials.

Peterson is an engineer in training with a bachelor's in civil engineering from Gonzaga University. She is working on new and existing residential buildings and an anchorage system for an aerial tram. Johnson is working on home remodeling, repair and new construction projects as a structural CADD designer. He has over 20 years of experience as a CADD drafter and was with Aerotek, providing drafting of life safety, fire alarm and other security systems. Brewer has 15 years of industry experience, including the last five creating shops drawings for architectural metal fabrications at Five Star Metals in Seattle. DEI is a structural engineering firm.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction hired Bob Herrera as project superintendent, Donna Guest as senior project engineer, Shasta Anton as project administrator and Aidan O'Neill as project engineer. Herrera has over 30 years of construction experience, with a strong background in public works and medical facilities. Guest has 30 years of construction experience that includes a variety of project types in Oregon, Hawaii and Washington. Anton has over 10 years of experience in customer relations, with four years in event management. O'Neill worked for six years at a residential concrete subcontractor before becoming a project engineer two years ago.

Washington River Protection Solutions

The U.S. Department of Energy announced it intends to extend the current Hanford tank operations contract with Washington River Protection Solutions for up to 12 months, from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, 2020. The extension is valued at $725 million. Washington River Protection Solutions is a team of companies led by Aecom with partner Atkins. The dedicated subcontractor for the contract is Orano.
