First REI Co-op sold its brand-new, unoccupied Spring District headquarters to Facebook for almost $368 million, sending deep seismic tremors through the Eastside office market. The retail sector shuddered, too. That was Bellevue. That was in September, nine months into the pandemic.
Three months later, as planned, the co-op has sold its old Kent headquarters to Bridge Development Partners. King County recorded the $24.6 million sale on Tuesday for the nearly 16-acre complex at 6750 S. 228th St.
