Mary's Place

Hoang

Vietnamese–American restaurant owner and community leader Taylor Hoang is the newest board member of Mary's Place. Hoang founded the Ethnic Business Coalition, a nonprofit helping immigrant and minority-owned businesses, and Winstar, a nonprofit helping Vietnamese farmers grow better and more sustainable coffee for export. Mary's Place is a Seattle nonprofit operating nine emergency family shelters in King County.

Quilceda Creek

In Snohomish, Quilceda Creek hired Nicole Trumble as national sales manager for the winery. Trumble has over 15 years of wine industry experience. She comes from California's Napa Valley region, where she was national sales director of a prominent winery. Prior to that, she was regional sales director of Pioneer Wine Co. in Dallas.

PrimeLending

National residential mortgage lender PrimeLending opened a new branch in Sandpoint, Idaho, and hired Pam Grutta as senior loan officer for it. Grutta was a senior loan officer at Flagstar Bank in Sandpoint and has over seven years of mortgage banking experience. The new branch is at 109 N. First Ave., Unit B, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864. PrimeLending is based in Dallas.

ImageFirst

Laundry services provider ImageFirst acquired two of its franchisees, in St. Louis and Seattle-Portland. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. ImageFirst specializes in the healthcare market, with 41 locations nationwide that serve over 14,000 medical facilities every week.

Sprague Pest Solutions

Tacoma-based Sprague Pest Solutions was ranked No. 24 on Pest Control Technology magazine's Top 100 list of pest management companies in the U.S. Sprague says it is the largest privately held, commercial services-only firm in the country. Rankings were based on revenue.

Museum of Flight

Burchette

After a two-year search, the Museum of Flight announced that Matthew R. Burchette will become senior curator on Sept. 3. Burchette has been curator since 2005 at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum in Denver. Before that, he was education director and assistant curator at Lone Star Flight Museum in Texas.

CI Security

In Seattle, Drex DeFord joined CI Security as health care executive strategist. DeFord has three decades of CIO experience, with a career spanning both coasts. He was CIO at Scripps Health, Seattle Children's, Steward Healthcare and the U.S. Air Force. CI Security provides managed detection and response and cybersecurity solutions.

Custom Choice Door

Homewood Holdings LLC bought Lakewood-based Custom Choice Door for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2007 by Ted Matthews and Alan Pascoe, Custom Choice supplies doors and millwork to local builders, contractors and DIY homeowners. Matthews remains as president. In the Seattle area, Homewood has bought Evergreen Lumber and Eagle Creek Siding. It is seeking to partner with and/or buy independent pro dealers, component manufacturers and service providers throughout the West. Homewood is part of the investment firm Building Industry Partners, which has offices in New York, Boston and Dallas.

Zipwhip

John Lauer of Zipwhip was ranked the 29th best CEO nationwide for women by Comparably. The ranking is based on anonymous reviews from female employees; Lauer scored 97 out of 100. Seattle-based Zipwhip provides texting for businesses.

Stewardship Partners

Stewardship Partners moved into new offices in Pioneer Square. The address is 80 Yesler Way, Suite 315, Seattle, WA 98104. The nonprofit helps landowners protect the environment with projects that restore fish and wildlife habitat, improve water quality, protect open space and “green up” the built environment.
