ABC of Western Washington

Erin VerHoeven of Corstone Contractors is 2010-11 board chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington. New officers include: Steve Klimek of Redhawk Group, chair-elect; Jeremy Stendera of Apex, vice chair of government & labor affairs; Larry Newton of Lovsted-Worthington, vice chair of membership; Amanda Grindle of Saybr Contractors, vice chair of development and education; Mark VanWell of VanWell Masonry, secretary/treasurer; and Les Sargeant of United Systems Mechanical, immediate past chair. Directors for 2010-11 are: Jamie Creek of Synergy Construction, Ryan Haggard of Haggard Electrical Contractors, Jeff Harding of Premier Builders, Dawn Lanz of McMullen Electric, Richard Malowney of Hub International NW, Greg Nolten of Dochnahl Construction, Brian Pahlow of Nuprecon, Karl Pauly of Graham Contracting, and John Stockburger of Davis Schueller.

Materials Testing & Consulting

Olympia's Materials Testing & Consulting added four to its geotechnical team: Lance Levine, Trish Beals, Wes Parnell and Josh Wagner. Levine, a professional engineer, is providing geotechnical engineering, consulting and project management for the southwestern regional office. Beals is a geologist, materials laboratory assistant and field technician. She is working at the Olympia office and the onsite materials laboratory at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Parnell is a field technician specializing in soils and asphalt QA/QC of federally administered projects. Wagner is a special inspector and soils technician who is accredited to inspect Army Corps of Engineers projects.

Donald B. Murphy Contractors

Federal Way-based Donald B. Murphy Contractors created an international trading and consulting division called DBM Global Services to support the firm's overseas expansion. The new division is working in growing international markets that include Canada, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.

Oregon State University

Oregon State University placed second nationally in the Engineering Student Design Competition by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute. Also known as the Big Beam Contest, the event pits student teams against each other to fabricate and test a precast, prestressed concrete beam with the help of local PCI producer members. OSU's team included Jill Folkestad, Gabriel Hoxmeier, Jared Trowbridge, Kenichi Nagao and Benjamin Maue. Keith Kaufman was the faculty advisor and Knife River Corp. of Harrisburg, Ore., was the local PCI producer. OSU took top honors in its regional division. A team from the University of South Florida won the overall championship.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

McGlynn
Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Gerard McGlynn as field executive in the Commercial Division at the Seattle headquarters. McGlynn is a 22-year construction professional, with a background as a superintendent. He studied business at Seattle Pacific University.

AGC of Washington

The AGC of Washington's Northern District office moved to a new location in the Bellingham Towers Building. The address is: 119 N. Commercial, Suite 110, Bellingham, WA 98225. Liz Evans is the district manager.

Korsmo Construction

Cathy Bordeaux joined the project management team at Korsmo Construction of Tacoma. Bordeaux has more than 20 years of experience in the local commercial construction and development markets, with an emphasis on medical offices.
