The Client Coach How to build strong business relationships |
October 30, 2002
One of the first things I noticed after living in the Northwest for a while, was how much more of an emphasis this region places on Halloween. Growing up in Louisiana you would never see entire neighborhoods lit up like giant pumpkins. The occasional jack-o-lantern illuminated by a flashlight was about as good as it got. Halloween resources were primarily reserved for food. Our mission was to fill king-sized pillowcases with enough candy to supply an aircraft carrier for a month.
Since it’s trick or treat time, I thought it might be interesting to draw a few comparisons to the field of client relations. Now I wish I hadn’t. What a nightmare! There are many dark alleys and trap doors that will take you straight to the client graveyard. I will try to guide you safely through but you must pay close attention to the signs ahead.
