Build a plan for better times

  • Plans need to be written down because the art of mind reading takes years to develop and few do it well.

    When things go well, when the economy is strong, when the backlog is bulging, few companies think about strategic planning. They are too busy doing the work.

    When times get harder, when the economy weakens, when the backlog thins out, thinking becomes very short-term and long range planning extends no further than the next two or three months.
