Integrus Architecture promoted Stephanie Ogram and Johnny Hong to senior associate and Alicia Morganti to associate. Ogram is interior design manager in the Spokane office and Hong is a project architect/designer in the Seattle office. Morganti does bookeeping in the Spokane office. Integrus provides architectural, planning, interior design, structural engineering and security design services.




FFA Architecture and Interiors hired Joe Zody as a senior associate, Stacey Henderson as a historic preservation specialist, and Laura Roark and Michelle Checkis as intern architects. Karl Refi was promoted to associate. Zody has nearly 25 years of senior living design experience and has worked on new construction and renovations. He will lead FFA's housing market design group, which focuses on apartments, student housing and senior living. Henderson holds a master's of historic preservation from the University of Oregon and a bachelor of interior architecture from the University of Oregon. Her projects include Olympic National Park Hoh Visitor Center. FFA provides architecture, planning, historic preservation and interior design.

Sparling hired Jeanette Hesedahl as a senior acoustician in the acoustical consulting and design practice. Hesedahl has 12 years as an acoustical consultant. She is an engineer with experience in commercial, educational, theater, mixed-use, community center, health care and industrial projects. She is working on Odle Middle School in Bellevue. Sparling is an electrical, technology, audiovisual, acoustical and lighting design firm with offices in Lynnwood, Portland and San Diego.

Freiheit & Ho Architects elected Sherri Grueneis to its board of directors. Grueneis recently became a shareholder, was promoted to associate principal, and was elected as corporation secretary. Her appointment to the board is part of a transition plan that began in 2012. Freiheit & Ho said it has seen growth of 75 percent over the past three years.

Paul Whitehill returned to the architectural staff of HKP Architects after seven years practicing in the Bay Area. He began working for HKP in 2001 and was involved in K-12 and community college projects, and has since focused on K-12. He is doing assessments for Edmonds School District. HKP is an architecture, design and planning firm in Mount Vernon.


PBS Engineering and Environmental promoted Heidi Yantz and Timothy (Tim) Ogden to principal. Yantz has been with PBS for seven years and manages its Portland geo-environmental group. Ogden has been with the firm for 20 years and leads the health and safety design team. Portland-based PBS provides geo-environmental, health and safety, engineering, and natural resource consulting from offices in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Farallon Consulting hired Scott Allin as a principal environmental scientist and office manager of its new office in Sacramento, Calif. Allin is an environmental property assessor with nearly 25 years of experience in environmental liability associated with brownfields. He has provided due diligence for single properties as well as mixed-use portfolios. Issaquah-based Farallon provides environmental consulting, with offices also in Seattle, Bellingham and Portland.

Phil Radics joined Hargis Engineers as a principal. Radics has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and will serve national and international clients. At Berk-Tek, he managed product sourcing, logistics and client development for firms that included 3M, Amazon, Fidelity Investments and Google. Hargis is a mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and electronic security consulting engineering firm.
BLRB Architects hired Scott Winters as an architectural graphics designer in the Tacoma office, Henry Rhett as a project designer in Bend, and Melissa Guarin as project manager in Portland. Winters holds a master's degree in architecture from the University of Oregon and a bachelor of fine arts in mixed media from Western Washington University. Rhett has 15 years of technical design experience and ran his own design firm, working on residential and commercial projects. Guarin has more than a decade of architectural design experience on public and private projects. Tacoma-based BLRB focuses on public architecture, and also has a Spokane office.
Historic Tacoma will hold a free event celebrating the city's historic architecture from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Tacoma Armory at South 11th Street and South Yakima Avenue.
The event is part of Tacoma's Art at Work Month, and is also Historic Tacoma's annual membership reception and meeting.
There will be an exhibit by Earthwise Architectural Salvage and a presentation on the armory, which was built in 1908.
Historic Tacoma said Fred Roberson recently bought the armory, and is seeking ideas from the community on how to redevelop it. He will attend the event.
